New member from Ohio

Hi everyone, just became a new member because I'm looking for a 5th wheel to use when I retire soon. Won't be a full timer but looking to do weeks and then months at a time. Looking forward to getting away from the Northeast Ohio winters. RVed back in the early 80s when the kids were young. Started out with a pop-up and then a 30" travel trailer. Sold the travel trailer when they got older and lost interest. Now it's just the wife and me and we want to get back into it.

I'm going to look at a 2011 Crossroads Cruiser M-31RE 5th wheel tomorrow.

Anyone here have that model? If so could you let me know how you like it and if you have ever had any problems with it? Just to give me an idea on what to check for when I go to see it.

This unit has the "Must have option package" and the "Patriot Edition Package"

Thanks!

First off let me welcome you to the forum. Second, we have the 2014 Cruiser 333RL and we absolutely love ours and the floor plan works great for us. Like you, when we started looking for a new 5th wheel we was thinking about something that we would be able to retire into. We have 3 kids with the youngest graduating college this next year. There has been times were a couple of the kids have gone with us so we still needed something that would be comfortable for all of us too. We wanted something that had plenty of storage, a nice open feel and a few extra bells and whistles and this unit fit all of our needs. My parents full time and have been living in a very similar 2014 floor plan to ours but from a different manufacture and they said that the layout has worked really well for them as well. As for problems, the only major problem we have had was an electrical problem with a couple of the outdoor outlets. As for that most of the other issues have been minor and I was easily able to fix them myself. No matter what floor plan or manufacture you get you are going to find an issue or two but nothing beats living the RV lifestyle. We love the long trips and always seem to feel a little disappointed in the short ones just because we have to come back to work. Good luck in your choice and take your time deciding in what you want, it will be worth it.

Welcome fellow Buckeye!

Not much info on the 5th wheel - but search a bit and go look at it. If it is what you really want, you'll know!

Well I have been trying to decide on this 5th wheel that I looked at over a week ago. The seller also wants to sell his truck and I made him my final offer on the package. We have been going back and forth since I first saw it. 5th wheel is very clean and well taken care of. The truck is a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 dually with the 5.9 Cummins and 75500 miles. We even brought the truck home to make sure I could get it in the garage. Just waiting to hear back from him. Wish me luck!

Welcome to the Forum. 75K miles on an '07 (especially diesel) is fairly low mileage. I hope you are able to come to terms and get what you want. Best wishes!

Must have a nice sized garage door! I had no issues with my 5.9 Cummins ever, and performed most routine maintenance myself. Traded in for '14 RAM dually and loving it. The only downside is most maintenance on the 6.7 is now done by dealer or others. Tows wonderfully though, and wishing you miles and miles of great travel. Retiring in a few years myself.

I GOT IT! The deal is sealed!

Got to move some money around and get insurance set up but will probably have it in my driveway early next week.

Looking for a couple of places to go to set up and learn all the ins and out with this 5th wheel.

Anybody have suggestions 2 to 4 hours from Youngstown Ohio?

I would like to tow it so I get used to it. Haven't towed anything for quite a while.

Agree! Make sure things work properly while you are at home where all your tools are. Would be a bummer to make a reservation, tow some distance and find out you have no hot water or some other issue.
Congrats on the purchase.

Tow it home and maybe around locally. Try everything out at home first! Get it figured out before you go somewhere and have the aggravation that you don't know how to do something.
