Walmart camping

Leaving next Thursday after work 7:30 or so headed to a BBQ comp and want to get a few hours up the road and thought about stopping overnight at a Wal-Mart parking lot. Never have done this but seems like a lot of folks do. Do all Wal-Mart stores let you do this? Any problems you have had? Any other stores let you do this? THANKS!!

We have stayed at Walmarts on occasion. Especially when in a hurry either going or coming.
We always went into the store and asked them before getting settled.
We have never been refused. I would recommend asking, because there are a few where it's not allowed.

We do this when traveling long distances. Lloyd is correct some do not allow this, but most do. I have a book called the next exit and it tells you what is available at any exit in the US. If the store is RV friendly it is listed in red. I also use an app on my phone called RVparky. It list not only wallmarts, but anyplace to stay for free, like Cracker Barrel and truck stops. I have had good luck at Wallmart and there are usually several other campers there at the same time, so you get to meet new people

This site, http://www.walmartatlas.com/, can help with Walmarts that permit overnight camping.

There are 2 walmarts in York PA that do not allow on parking..
This is a township law, not a walmart rule.

We have done this multiple times. As said before RVparky worked well. We always checked with Manager.

We stopped at one on a up scale mall..Walmart did not own but was a tenent. They had us checkin with mall security..they escourted to a location to stay..provided golf cart security patrols and we were on a camera.
