I always take 550 to Durango, good road and steady climb from Albuquerque, thru Cuba and on up into Colorado. This avoids Raton Pass and/or Pagosa Springs (with the fire nearby, Wolf Creek Pass is closed, so traffic between Pagosa Springs and Santa Fe will be greater than normal). We use Stagecoach RV park, near the 550 exit off of I25, just north of Albuquerque. Cheap fuel prices and walking distance to a Walmart.
There is also a KOA off I25 a little closer to Albuquerque, but it is not as convenient, stayed at it once many yrs ago. And there are other parks on I40 east of Albuquerque, but haven't used them.
