Any suggestions for going east?

Last year we went West and had the best trip of our lives. We put 8200 miles on the truck and enjoyed everyone. Last year we had a lot of suggestions and they really helped. Thank you all.

This year we are traveling from Florida and traveling up the east coast to all the New England states. Im going to post a map to give you all an idea. We are looking for suggestions on where to stay and what to see. Last year we moved from place to place. This year as we are not driving as many miles I want to see if we can have a few home bases. Find a centrally located place and stay a few days traveling back and forth to the TT. Last year we stayed 5 days in Yellowstone 15 min outside the main gate. We would leave early and come back late. When the sun started to come down we would head back and it always took at least an hour to get back. That what gave us this idea plus the less you have to pack up and move the better.

Here is the map. We are pretty much driving straight through to Pennsylvania. We've done the South and we figure as it's closer to home we can come back much easier. We are going to Hershey,Philly, Boston Area, Acadia National Park, Jump over to Canada, Niagara Falls, Upstate NY.

Savannah, GA is well worth a visit. We stayed at the Red Gate Campground.

Savannah, GA is great we've been there before. We want to go straight to Pennsylvania and then start the trip.

If you can, try to avoid the Washington DC / Baltimore area. Traffic there is just a nightmare. Lived there for 10 years so I do have some background with their traffic.

Since you'll be doing some traveling near Philly, might I suggest going from I-95 near Richmond, VA, jog over to I-81, and going into PA via that route. You can even spend a night or two near the Gettysburg Battlefield, a truly wonderful location to visit. Then you can pickup the PA Turnpike and head toward Philly and continue your trip north.

Regardless of your route, take your time, see the sights, and be safe out there!

That my friend was a good idea. I just changed my route on Good Sam. It says it adds 1.5 hours. But i remember driving through the Washington area years ago and we sat in bumper to bumper traffic for ever.

Made the trip from South Texas to Boston 4 times in 2014, DO NOT go I-95 from DC to Boston area. I drove this in a 32ft box truck and think I lost 20 pounds one way! Go West below DC and go North on the West side of the Appalachian mountians. The other drivers have NO respect for trailers or big trucks. We Have a GMC 4door D-Max and 32 ft. fithwheel.This is just my opinion.

Normandy Farms is a great campground just outside of Boston if Foxboro. You can easily get into Boston from there and any other New England locations.

Been to see the Biltmore in Asheville NC ?
Worth two days at least - do a private tour where you go behind the scenes and see the technology that was 50 years ahead of its time !
the 'regular' visitors were like
How the heck are they getting to go there? we can't ???

we stayed at the upper tier of Bear Creek Park and loved looking at the COLORS when we woke up
and off roading thru beautiful trails that any 4x4 can make !
