Anyone ever stay at Steinaker State Park - Utah?

We've been anticipating a trip to Dinosaur National Monument for years. Now that our girls are old enough to appreciate it we are headed out. In looking up places to camp with decent amenities we were having troubles. Seems a lot of the campgrounds nearby Dinosaur are described as being located right in town. We prefer a more rustic environment. Then we came across Steinaker in Utah. Has 8 full hookup sites and some with electric only. Reviews are pretty good and pictures look like what we like.

We haven't gotten our reservations in yet, as they only book 4 months out, but I have it on the calendar to make sure we get the dates we are looking for. Since we are planning for a one week stay we want/need the full hookups so we can accommodate some showers/baths as there are none on-site.

We plan to visit Dinosaur National Monument (about 30 minutes away) as well as Flaming Gorge Reservoir in Wyoming, and anything else that peaks our interests with our home at Steinaker.

Anyone else book up their summers this far out?

We have to. As you may know from using the two big reservation sites (at least the ones I have found) they open the reservations in Feb and many / most parks don't open until May. And within the first week, locations are gone.

We have been trying to set weekends for the rest of the year and are finding many weekends are already booked. Of course if you want Monday to Thursday, most are wide open.

Any rules about discussing the websites people use for reservations?

We opted for a week at Steinaker in a full hook up site and a permanent shelter over the picnic table. Seems to be an easy drive to a few different parks in the area to maximize our trip to the area as well as get to relax for a bit.
