I agree with Lloyd communication between you and a spotter is a must. Funny thing is I can tow the trailer but hate backing it up so Im the spotter. Me and my wife use a pair of cheap walkie talkies so I can direct her with out having to yell at her...HaHa

We went to Smokey Mountains last summer and stayed at the Great Outdoors RV Campground in Franklin, NC. It is a VERY NICE Campground and is about a 35 minute drive to Cherokee and the entrance to the Smokey Mountains. Here is link: RV Park Western NC - Smoky Mountains - Asheville

We stayed in a Pigeon Forge campground years ago and you would have thought I was in New York city we were so tight...

beautiful country around there, but sorry, Pigeon Forge was a tourist trap as far as camping goes maybe its changed, but do know it was still worth the trip to be able to do the smoky mountains, gatlinburg, etc...

As far as communications, we've found the cellphone thru the truck's bluetooth is the easiest on me...

I just ask the wife to call me when she is in position to watch the 'other' side, and say things like
STOP... which is the most important command, everything else can be negotiated

but, if she never says anything, then I'm not sure if we still have a phone connection, so I ask her to say something periodically like "keep coming" ...

Franklin and Cherokee are very nice. We tent camped thru there many years ago. Got a motel in Pigeon Forge. It is very touristy. We then went to Cumberland Falls, KY. It is just across the state line. Daniel Boone national forest. It was awesome. If you like adult beverages pick them up before you leave TN as the county there was dry.

x2 on the cellphone to TV bluetooth. Keeps my marriage and trailer in good shape. I tried the rear camera, just not the same as having a set of eyes to help get the trailer lined up to the pad, campfire, blackwater connections in the dark.
