Camping in WI.

I have been wondering where you folks in the SE part of WI. go camping in that area of the state.
I have been to Kohler-andre a few times but that is a real bear to try and get into during the season.
Any recommendations?

Wyalusing State Park, camp in the Bluff loop overlooking Prairie du Chien . The view at night is almost a religious experience.

Hi Lloyd,
Our son lives in Madison and when we go to visit we often camp in Lake Kegonsa State Park. I hear you can almost always get a spot during the week but since we always are there over a weekend we make a reservation. Some spots are difficult to get into for me since our unit is 32' and the woods are thick. If you are going to go send me a PM and I'll give you a heads up on sites we like. You can also stop and buy Solvit while you are there. Happy Holidays! Bruce

After a late start from home we found Rock Cut SP off of I39 north of Rockford, that's about the closest we've camped to the SE corner of Wi.

Thanks for the info guys.
I should have been a little more area specific.
What I'm looking for is campgrounds a ways north of Milwaukee, and south of Sheboygan.
Can be some what west but not to much.
We have relation in both places and I was trying to find something decent in between those two areas.

Seems like it has been quite a few now Frank.
I figured he had given up on me by now.

Years ago before we moved to the northern part of Wi we camped at Mauthe Lake state park in the Kettle Moraine near Kewaskum. There is a nice trail hike that goes around the lake. Seems like the majority of the Wisconsin State Parks are more and more difficult to get into even with trying to reserve a site online.

Scott, I see you are further up in the sticks and mosquitoes then we are.
Where do you camp up there?

Lloyd, We camp at Gov. Tommy Thompson state park, Peninsula state park, Point Beach state park, Boulder Lake national forest campground (near Mountain Wi), and Bewabic state park in the Michigan UP by Iron River Mi. We enjoy the state and national parks more and seem to steer clear of the private campgrounds.
