Castaways Berlin/Ocean City MD

This place is outstanding. Clean shower houses, nice pool and general store. Spacious sites, and a friendly staff. We stayed last year, and decided to stay an extra day. We paid for the extra day, but were forced to move from our site. When we moved to our new site, it was already occupied, and it did not look like they were leaving. The staff put us over in the VIP section and gave us a discount. The Island Oasis section is the best deal in my opinion. The map makes it look like you are far from the water, but it is like 100 feet to the beach from the farthest site. We did Frontier town a few years ago, because it was the only choice. Castaways has it beat, hands down unless you are overwhelmed by the waterpark thing. It takes about 5 minutes driving to be at the boardwalk, 10 minutes on the bus. 7 minute drive to Assateague National Seashore, and a little further south to Rum Pointe Seaside Links if you want to play a Pete Dye golf course. Some vintage planes take off from the nearby airport, and you can watch skydivers all day long. Can't wait to see what they have done for this year!

We just did 9 days at Castaways, our second time there. This time it seems there were people cutting thru our site all the time, very annoying and rude! We were by the store so that is why it was occurring, lazy asses couldn't walk down to the cross over path. Also, people aimlessly cruising around on their golf carts, almost like a Saturday night vintage car cruise. That got old too!! But, other than that, campground is real nice.
