First Trip with the RV

It was eventful to say the least and didn't start out all that well. Clipped a stop sign less then a mile from the house to start out. Then had to pull into a church parking lot to adjust the sway control and load balancing bars. We get to the campground and find our site, step out to take a look at it leaving the truck running....one of our dogs stepped on the lock button and locked us out of the truck. Then is started raining while we're trying to get back into the truck. Thankfully someone came by and called the rangers for us and they got us back into the truck.

The RV is a tad robust for the truck, so I'm going to have to make some upgrades. Flat and rolling roads are good, but being from East TN means we're going to be driving up a lot of mountains. At one point we were pulling up an 8 percent grade at 25-30 MPH in second gear. Revs were around 2000-2500, but it kept wanting to go to first gear. I need a tad more gear and oomph I think. Other then that the weekend went great!!!

Looks like you had a good time despite the rough start. We have a 2016 Zinger bunkhouse and love it. We had to upgrade our truck to be able to pull it up the Saluda grade on I-26 and into the mountains. It makes a big difference.

Thanks for sharing. We all have our "adventure" stories hauling trailers and RV's around. Mine was forgetting to latch the 5th wheel hitch and dropping my rig on the the bed of my truck. Ouch!

Good looking steak!

At least you got the first damage out of the way for the season and it was minimal.

We have all had a few misadventures I'm sure. With our current one we luckily have not yet. Our last MH we purchased in 2006 which was an upgrade at the time from a TT we headed out and found our CG for the evening. I passed a gas station about one mile down the road and said we would fill up in the morning. Got up and put everything away and headed to get gas. Pulled up to the pump and got to see my steps were still out and then also noticed antenna still straight up. We learned quick.
