Hello,

I have meetings in Grand Rapids next week, and am looking for a campground as close to GR as possible. Since I am not looking for a vacation destination, mostly I need close to GR, reasonable rates, clean site, preferablywith pull thru's, and quiet if possible!

Thank you!

Grand Rogue Campground https://plus.google.com/115664770962...87418786/about

I can't think of a closer campground to the city. Approximately 10 minutes from the city depending on traffic.

About 30 minutes from Grand Rapids is Duke Creek Campground in Cedar Springs where my season lease is.

Thanks, papa2. I checked out Grand Rogue, and their web site says they are not doing regular operations at this time, only groups, and special events. I will send a note to Duke Creek.

I live on the west side of Grand Rapids. You might also check out Baldwin Oaks in Jenisonhttp://baldwinoakscampground.com/Baldwin_Oaks_Campground/Welcome.html or Woodchip Campground in Byronhttp://www.woodchipcampground.com/. There is also Hungry Horse in Dorr about 30 minutes south of Grand Rapids.

If interested in meeting when here shoot me a pm.

Hi Jim,

We live in Tully, which is just south of Syracuse. Where did you live in Upstate NY?

Thanks, papa2.

We are also looking at a town called Ionia. Part of our challenge is that we have one day to drive to MI from NY. We usually limit our days to about 500 miles, and this would require about 600, which is a long day. So we may try to get as close as we can to GR, on Sunday night, leave the trailer and commute into GR Monday and Tuesday. There aren't many sites on the south and east of GR.

I am originally from Albany, my wife is from Stuyvesant, which is where we lived after being married. I still have family there and just got back from a 2 week visit to family still there. We have a daughter who lives in Poughquag, just north of NYC and 2 grandchildren...we will spend more time there once my wife retires. I worked for the D&H Railroad and travelled extensively to Buffalo in my younger years. Good memories, especially the blizzard of 77 LOL
