Looking for easy stops in Baltimore and Wilmington NC in North South trip

Travelling from NH to SC in early July. Looking for campground suggestions that would be easy off/on from the 95 corridor near Baltimore MD and Wilmington NC. Any help is appreciated.

Don't know how deep into SC you're going. But here's a quirky tourist spot just inside the state line on 95. Good food, low prices, fun, and the campsite is not bad at all, for a one-night tourist stop. Welcome to SC! South Of The Border ~ America’s Favorite Highway Oasis

Not much around Baltimore. Also in Baltimore, be aware propane containers are not allowed through the tunnels on both 95 and 895. You will need to go around on 695. Avoid Baltimore and DC at rush hour (am and pm)!!!!!

I have never stopped anywhere in that area (grew up just north of Baltimore) but IIRC there is cherry hill park campground on the north side of D.C. near college park that you can see from the highway. It was near where 495 and 95 meet. It looks to be easy on/easy off on the map.

If you stay in DC you should be able to make south of the border near the NC/SC state line. Or you could stay in northern NC near VA border at Carolina Crossroads. This list from i95 exit guide for NC might help you. You can cross reference it with RV Park Reviews - Trusted Reviews of Campgrounds & RV Parks.

Here is the maryland version I do know that Susquehanna state park is not big rig friendly.

I believe there is a restriction on campers within Washington, DC proper.. Go around.

Semper Fi to you too Sleepy. Retired Marine here.

We ended up getting a spot on both the down trip and return at Camp Meade for right around $20 a night. Then made reservations at South of the Border going both ways also. Again, not a lot of money so it all works out. Can't wait. This is our first long trip in a camper in our 4 years of camping.

Ooh Rah Marine...Thanks for your service...

I see by your post that you have only been camping four years...My DW Rosie and I have only been camping since 2009. So we are fairly new to camping also...I hope you enjoy it as much as we do...Enjoy your trip to SC and stay safe...

X2 on Cherry Hill Park, it is a great base for visiting DC. American Heritage RV Park in Williamsburg is another good park if you want to see that area. In Wilmington, NC your only choice is going to be the KOA, a little pricey and you need to reserve early; but it is the only one in the area.
