Louisiana Camp Grounds

Hi , does anyone know of any good campgrounds in Louisiana with a good bit of activities, such as canoeing, trail hiking, fishing, and with good parking pads. We have been to several so far along the south east, and having great time.

Tickfaw SP near Springfield has good hiking trails and a paddle trail, decent fishing in the Tickfaw River.
Chicot SP near Ville Platte has good freshwater fishing and a great loop trail around the lake, lots of wildlife. Canoes available for rent.
Fountainbleu SP on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain has some trails and decent fishing in the lake, plus close access to New Orleans across the 26 mile Causeway.
Lake Fausse Point near New Iberia has good fishing, haven't hiked or camp there, only kayaked.

We have great times at Tickfaw State Park and Fountainbleau State Park. Plenty to do at both of them. Fountainbleu has plenty of wildlife to see also, deer and hogs all by the lake. Also if you don't have a camper they have awesome looking cabins on the shores of the lake. All in all we had lots of fun at both of them, the canoeing and trails are great at Tickfaw.
Will look into the other ones soon.

We just found Lakeside RV Park in Livingston, La. It is a nice place, plenty amenities, and full hookups throughout. All camp sites surround the lake. The only thing I don't like is the sites are sort of close together, need more trees, but all the pads are perfect level. We liked it, and it is very quiet.

We have not been to Reunion yet, but my wife went on line and saw the pictures and all info on it. It looks great, and looks like lots of activities to do. It is on our list to go there. Hope when we go the slow river will be complete.

We are heading out to Yogi Bear Jellystone park campground next weekend for a 4 day trip . Feature there will be Super Soaker, and I am sure grandkids will love that. I m bringing my fishing pole, heard they have decent fishing there also. And they finished remodeling there new swimming pool. Should be great time.

We got back from Jellystone Tuesday and was a great time, they had so many activities to do, and was fun for everyone. Our next trip in Louisiana is Abita Springs resort, for 5 day getaway. Cant wait.

Fhenn, We did go there for the sales demo, and truthfully, a sales lady was our host, and she was totally cool. No pressure to buy anything , just gave us the complete tour of the place, and gave us our free camping tickets there for a year from the date we went, even though we did not buy anything. We will be going there maybe in fall when it is a little cooler, and hoping all storms will calm down by then. Looking forward to a good time.
