We stayed at the Yogi Bear cg on the Canadian side a couple of years ago with daughter, son-in-law, and two grandkids. Nice park and close to most attractions.

For whatever the reason, the Canadian side of the Falls is better developed and has more attractions than the American side. None-the-less, the KOA on Grand Island is nice if you have kids with you. There is an amusement park adjoining the CG, so the noise levels may be a little high for you. Also, it's easy to hit the 190 that runs up along the Upper Niagra River from Buffalo to the Falls.

I would recommend seeing Ft. Niagra, which is close by in Lewiston, the Power Authority (if you can still get in with the terrorist fears), the Maid of the Mist, etc. Buffalo has a nice zoo, and museums, and the Naval Museum is quite nice. Also, Buffalo has a minor league baseball team downtown.

I would hazard a guess that you'll be coming up I-90

If you have the time, Watkins Glen is nice, maybe catch some of the Winery Tours on the Finger Lakes.

And, if you're going to hit the Winerys', don't miss Mumford. For my money the have the 2nd best Historic Village east of the Mississippi! While some of the Historic Villages specialize in one era, Genesee Village shows how life and living progressed from Pioneer days up to the early 20th century.

I'm a History Major, so I naturally gravitate to anything that deals with the subject, especially recreations or Interpretationa representations.

This is on our list for this year. Hope to go in June, and plan to stay on this side because of passports and such.

Hi, new to this forum (hoping to buy a Slingshot VERY soon!). I'm from the Finger Lakes area originally and can give some ideas if you're heading a little further east at some point in your trip to Niagara Falls.

One thing - if you've never been to a Wegmans supermarket - go. They have them all throughout the Western NY area including Buffalo. This is not your run of the mill grocery store. Check out their website for locations.

Letchworth State Park is also a definite if you have the time. Castile, NY is one of the closest villages to it. GORGEOUS scenery with 3 falls, nicely maintained lands, an old inn, hot air balloon rides (need to reserve these), just so picturesque. Plus you probably will see lots of deer - we always do. One of the nicer state park campgrounds we've ever been to.

have fun on your trip!

oh, one more thing...Darien Lake Theme Park is just east of Buffalo off the Thruway (I-90) and is a great choice for kids (and those who like to act like kids!!). great rides and a water park.

Four Mile Creek State Campground is great. Right on Lake Ontario and a short drive to the falls. Full hookups and plenty of wide open sites...cheap too
