North Dakota

For those coming to North Dakota I would suggest staying in Medora.
Several campgrounds, home to Theodore Rosevelt National Park.
Has a great musical every night and also has a great golf course carved in to the badlands there.
Many other things to do too. Also is on the way to the blacks hills to the south or to Yellowstone to the west.

Thanks for the note. We've often thought of taking the northern route to go out west to Montana but were concerned about having decent campgrounds on the way.

If you come this way call ahead as they fill up quickly
Go to the medora web site and you will be able to view the campgrounds, some are rustic but we have always had good luck , we usually get the full hookups, sometimes the restrooms leave a little to be desired
Bismarck also has a couple of nice campgrounds

Medora musical is great. Take in the pitchfork steak dinner before the show.
