Pisgah View Ranch Campground, Candler, NC

Has anyone been to Pisgah View Ranch Campground in Candler, NC? I've

only found one comment on any forum so I'm a bit curious if this is a

highly-used destination. It seems almost too good to be true with full

hookups and a low rate. The ranch is rated very high on amenities so I

wonder if this has carried over to the campground as well.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Never heard of it before but looking at the website, I am not sure that campers get to use all of the ranch stuff (ie riding and roping) that the dude ranch guests in cabins get.

From talking to the managers, you can do most of the stuff. I do know that the meals are available to the campers (for a fee) and that some of the activities can be done as well. What is interesting is that if you want a place where you won't be bothered by cell phones, this is the one. The guy that runs the campground told me that he has to go out by the convenience store to make calls.

I'm headed down there for a flintlock class nearby and the Ranch campground was suggested by the guy teaching the class.

I'm just looking to see if anyone else has ever stayed there. I did post up in another RV forum looking for info but haven't gotten any results. The only thing I've found is one family that had stayed in the campground and loved it.

I think I need to take lots of pictures and post them up here when we get back.

Well, we were headed past the "campground" on I-40 so I thought we'd just have a look before we pulled in with the Seville. Good thing we did, staying there is no longer an option.

I see a lot of possibilities for the place but unfortunately, it doesn't look like anyone has been there for some time though it looked like there was some work being done on the shower house. The campsites had a good bit of tree debris on them and all had grass growing where the gravel or concrete pads should have been.

Towing in there could have been a bit exciting. The road in was a winding blacktop that then turned into a narrow gravel road. Overhead clearance could have been a bit exciting as I think the Seville would have been into the trees on occasion. One turn would have been cross lane as to make the turn would have taken the complete road.

I didn't have my camera handy as it was in the back of the car & I think maybe I a bit shocked that I forgot to grab it once we pulled in there.

I'm trying to contact the other group that was going down there to get their reaction as well.
