Road Info in Texas - question

How is Rt 31 from Tyler to Bellmead, Texas. My routing tool is getting me off of I-20 in Tyler, vice staying on I-20 to pick up I-35 around Dallas. The Rt 31 rt is shorter by 45 miles, but shorter is not always quicker or better when you are pulling 41 feet of 5er. Any info is appreciated.

jerry, this is TEXAS - the little roads are big

the two lanes usually have wide shoulders that many times I've used to let traffic by... (for the few times any drive faster than me !)

Depending on the time of day I-20 and I-35E are both No-No's in a CAR much less an rv

and in places 31 is a divided 4 lane... so go fer it !

Yeah, I've used 31 before pulling my Cruiser. It is 4 lanes most of the way, level and not that much traffic. It will save time and fuel even if there are no problems on the Interstates around Dallas.

As said above Hwy 31 is a great road - a few small towns to go through that give you something to look at; an enjoyable drive!
