Looking to break up a long trip on the way home by stopping in Carlisle PA area for a few days. Any good campgrounds around that area that are worthy?

Deer Run Looks interesting. So does Gettysburg/Battlefield KOA

Artillaery Ridge campground is just a mile from down town Gettysburg.
the museum is a must...CG folks can help you.
Camped there 3 times....2 rally's.
You can get a battleground tour on horseback...CGT rents the horses and a guide.

Try 'Western Village RV Park' have stayed there a couple times, short distance off I81 just S.W. of Carlisle itself.

Wow,, Both those places look like winners.. Thanks for the tip.. Artillery looks cool, The wife would love to take a ride on the horseys.



Hey Walt and Ruck.. What sites do you stay on, So i can get an idea of a location of good sites.. I am not a fan of going someplace for the first time. Never know what sites are good.Edited by: danskool

we used site 48...all sites from # 47 thru 71 are ok, from what I remember.
Stay away from sites 54, 55, 56..floods when it rains.
Looking forward to meeting younext spring at the Northeast Crossroads rallly in Manheim PA.
Look for the thread in a couple weeks.

Thanks for the tip on the Floods sites.. Always good to know and a big worry of mine with getting into a new to use camp grounds.

Don't recall the site numbers, first time was a back-in w/ Motorhome, second was pull-thru w/ fiver, both worked ok for me....
