Looking to spend some time in the Eureka area and a few days in the Napa Valley area. We will be flying in instead of taking the fifth wheel. Going to Northern CA (see the redwoods) is on my wife's bucket list. Mine is to take the RV out to Yellowstone and Glacier next summer.

Bob,
My wife retires in April and Yellowstone and Glacier are both on our list too. We are thinking we have to do it in the summer because weather can turn flaky in the fall. Keep us in mind, we're not far from you...if you're looking for traveling companions. If not, safe travels.

Are you going to the rally in July? This will be our first rally of any kind and we are so looking forward to it. I'm hoping to meet and put faces to the names on here.

Jim

Norske,
Enjoy the camping with the granddaughter's. We are coming back to NY in July for a couple of weeks and were hoping to bring our 2 granddaughter's, ages 12 and 9. However, they are both so involved in sports they cannot afford that much time away. We still have a daughter in Poughquag so we will probably stay at Sylan Lakes in Hopewell Jct. I am originally from Albany and my wife is from Stuyvesant. We lived in Stuyvesant Falls before moving to WI 32 years ago.

Hope to see you down the road someday, or perhaps on that CA trip next year. Enjoy all the time you can with the grandkids they are precious memories

Jim

If you are around NAPA, the ferry across the bay to San Francisco is a very nice day trip. Also a drive up to Muir Woods National Monument and along the coast is very interesting.

OK here's my suggestion....

Head North up the coast at least to Reedsport, OR and take the Umpqua Hwy back to I-5.

Then South to Mt Shasta City, CA and turn East on Hwy 89 through Lassen Park then down the Feather River Canyon on Hwy 70. Hwy 70 will get you to the Sacramento area where you take 80 to San Francisco then head back up to Napa and other wine country locations.

Finish up to the North on either 101 or Hwy 1 along the coast, and the Avenue Of The Giants (Sorry, the tree ones, not the Football ones) marks the last leg of the trip back to Eureka.

If you want a longer trip, you could skip the Umpqua hwy and go all the way up to Portland.
