We just returned from our first LONG camping trip. We decided to stretch it out this year and went from New Hampshire down to Myrtle Beach SC for a week. Had a blast! Even though this is our 3rd camper, we had always just hung around New England with the other 2 so this was a big change.
The drive down was actually not bad if you take out a couple crazy bridges in Mass, NY, and NJ. Not the long, high ones with the great views, but the poorly maintained ones that sent the truck/trailer jumping crazy! Lol.

If you are on active duty/reserve/retired military or a Dept of Defense employee check it out. I made a reservation at the Fort Meade campground and we were very happy with what we got. It was the best campground sites we have ever camped at. And being so close to DC makes it great place to stay and visit all there is to do there. Plus VERY reasonable!
We wanted to get as close to Myrtle Beach as we could the second stop so on check in day we wouldn't be driving 7 hours and pulling in exhausted. So we stayed at
campground « South Of The Border ~ America’s Favorite Highway Oasis. Well let's just say that it was a convenient stop and reasonably priced.
On day 3 we finally made it to our campground at Myrtle Beach,
Ocean Lakes Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, SC - Oceanfront camping. I was overwhelmed just driving to our spot with the size of this place! Absolutely huge. But even though it was that big, it was very well layed out. Didn't have a problem getting the 42' 5th wheel into our spot. We were just the 2nd row from the beach so that was pretty cool too. We had a great week there and enjoyed the different type of campground than we are used to up in New England. Seemed like everyone had a golf cart and every night it was a parade of them all over the place. The beach was awesome and of course you couldn't beat the golf in the area. Plenty of places to eat and spend your money too.
Going back seemed like a much longer drive, but probably because we were just worn out from our week. Be glad to answer any questions if anyone has any.
