As non residents are given “only 6 months to stay in the US,so since

2002 we are RVing in the summers ,at the end of each trip we store the

rig and fly home for the winter, just to come in the following spring to

pick up from the place we stored the rig and discover new

States/Provinces.

As we like nature, hiking, history and meeting people it usually takes us

3-4 States to really “see each summer.

Till now we have explored The Western States,Canada except

Manitoba,North Eastern States. :

This year in late October we stored the rig next to Charlotte NC and

will be picking it from there next May-June and this time we will end

the trip in Ontario Canada around October 2012.

I am currently planning a route that we have not taken yet and would

like your advise/suggestions/comments along it.

The idea is to drive along this route (more or less) use parks with

electrical hook-ups at central locations and do side trips mainly to

waterfalls, overlooks, hikes and events with the truck.

As you pass through South Carolina, greatbeach parks are Huntington Beach State Park (summer home of Anna Hyatt and Archer Huntington), Edisto Beach State Park (tons of shells on this beach and visit Botany Bay), and Hunting Island State Park (sand dollars every where on the beach and visit the light house),,,,more info at,,,www.southcarolinaparks.com/. Hope you don't mind hot and muggy weather!!!!!

I can't see your map too well. If you are going to come through the Raleigh Durham area next year, check out Lake Jordan area. There are some nice campgrounds there and it is really pretty. Poplar Point and Crosswinds are the 2 most liked campgrounds at Jordan Lake (and they are both state parkcampgrounds). One thing to remember in NC, state parks close at dusk and you are locked in or out. There is no getting to the other side of that gate after dusk. Jordan Lake is within approx 30min (give or take a little) of Durham, Raleigh and Chapel Hill. All 3 towns/cities have some great things to see. ie Duke Chapel, Duke Homestead, lots of museums, UNC, etc.

It doesn't really matter, it's either hot or going to get hotter. Our winter last year was on a Thursday. Our Texas Crossroads Rally is April 20-22, 2012. You are more than welcome to attend & will win the distance award.Edited by: FFFord

Hi Dan,

Looks like at the end of your trip next year you will be going through Port Huron Michigan on your way into Canada? If you are doing this, let me know we would love to visit with you and Shula. We didnt get to chat at the rally this past year.

There is a nice state campground right here about 10 minutes away from my house. The campground is called Lakeport state campground.

Let me know what you think and we can set something up.

Are you coming to the 2012 Factort Rally again next year?Edited by: fixit5561

Dan n Shula
Are y'all going to be at the factory rally, 2012? We have site #11, should be there a day or so prior and stay for a couple after. In Myrtle Beach at present, leaving after first week of Jan and heading west. Should end up in Ca for a bit then north and finally east across the northern states to Pa then back to Indiana.
