Things to do, places to stay :)

My turn !

Colorado Springs and Durango area....

Having gone there a LONG time ago with my daughters select team for the Pike's Peak Invitational, have an idea of the neat places like:
The cog train to Pike's Peak,
air force academy,
Cheyenne Mountain
royal Gorge,
white water rafting,
Garden of the Gods,
mesa verde,

Where do we stay ?
What else do we see ?

Thanks in Advance !
JBT

I think Royal Gorge had a big fire 1 or 2 yrs ago that destroyed most of the buildings. There is a dinner excursion train thru the gorge that might be interesting.

Around Durango there is the train of course, also a good chuck wagon dinner program a few miles north of town. Last time we had to use a commercial campground, we stayed at 5 Branches RV Park on Vallecito(sp) Lake, far removed from the noise and activity of Durango if you prefer a quiet place, nice sites right on the water.
