We had a dealer tell us the 2011 29BH had problems with roof leaks, and the construction was changed for 2012.He also implied the new roof would be heavier. Does anyone know if this is the case? The brochure seems to indicate similar weights as in 2011, IIRC.

We bought our 29BH last month. The dealership technician that was assigned to our pre-purchase walk-thru told me that his preference was for the fiberglass roof. He's owned many RVs for the past 35+ years and he seemed knowledgeable. I also heard the same from another dealer (not CrossRoads).

I think the new roof is rubber, with a luan plywood underlayment. Did your dealer say where he gothis information from? I'd be interested to know thespecifics concerning the leak problems with the fiberglass roof so I can better prevent them.

Sounds like a installation issue not a material issue. Quite frankly there are many high end RV's that have fiberglass one-piece roofs. There are pro/con's to both so I wouldn't stress a rubber roof, either.

We were in Michigan earlier this month and drove down to Indiana for the factory tour, which was pretty informal. Yes, the Slingshot roof has been changed to rubber. There are a couple of other changes as well. Previously there was no oven, just a gas cooktop and a convection microwave. This has been changed to a gas cooktop and oven. As a result of these changes the shipping weight on the 29BH is actually ~4500 lbs, some 400 lbs heavier than before (and the old weight is still listed in the brochure).

Also the Sunflower upholstery is now all brown leather, at least on the couch. Can't remember if it's like that in the dinette as well, but it's definitely a big improvement in the look of the couch.

We've ordered a Sunflower.
