We're finally picking up our GT29BH this coming Wednesday - been a long time coming. We've staved off the vultures and said "no" to the "Environmental Protection Package" ($1000), extended warranty ($1500), and the Road Care policy ($550). I think we have the basic equipment ready to bring her home.



Having said all that, as we go through our hour+ delivery walk through, are there any specific things to look out for unit wise?

this may sound silly, but leading up to to pre-delivery i made myself little notes/questions as a reminder.

then during the walk thru i took notes, because they cover A LOT of stuff.



pay attention to where the fuses/fuse panel is

I would take the digital camera along to pair with the notes. A picture can be a big help. And read the manual when you get it home! Good camping to you.

The link could prove to be very helpful. I recorded the event on my digital video camera. Went back to it a few times already.

So our delivery went well on 9/1...no major issues. Biggest thing was a tail light stopped working just after we left the lot - figures ...ended up being a wire-nut in a junction box on the tongue. Took about 30 minutes to figure it all out. Other things were minor - all and all pleased.

Got home and tried to slide a BAL X-Chock in place and found a fender support in the way. I removed their aluminum strip and rigged up a piece of PVC I can remove when we arrive at a site...have any of you come across this and solved it some other way?

Will a BAL X Chock even reach with the wide stance axles? Also, I noticed your from N. IL. not far from me, so I'm curious who your dealer was.

Hertz - I have also recently purchased a Slingshot 29BH. I am considering getting the BAL extended chocks for it, but am concerned that you mentioned you had to remove an aluminum strip to get it to fit. I am not scared of DIY projects, but am not thrilled to have to do something like this on my brand new TT. :-) Was this difficult?

Had anyone else had experience using the BAL extended chocks on a Slingshot?

I hear you...was not thrilled to have to do it either - but I guess I should have looked first.

However, it's a rather cheesy piece of aluminum that is hand bent, going from the frame to the plastic "fender" that runs above the wheels. One screw in the frame, one screw in the fender. Easily fixed...

I used a length of 1/2" PVC pipe and two end caps, no PVC cement. One cap screwed into the original hole in the frame and the other in the original hole on the fender. These caps remain in place all the time. I put the length of pipe in when I'm on the road and remove to place the chock. Over time the pipe may loosen in the caps, but easily replaced. So far so good...

I'm not too close to her now as she's in storage...otherwise I'd post a picture for you.
