2012 Rushmore 35RL

Is the roof of the Rushmore safe to walk on?

My 2015 Rushmore Springfield is plenty strong enough to walk, but I can't say that a 2012 was built the same way. However, if it has rear ladder (as mine does) I have to think that Crossroads intended for the roof to be walked on.

Go on line and see if you can bring up the sales literature for that year. Or crossroads may be able to send it to you

Thank you,
I found the brochure but it doesn't answer the question.

The Rushmores were/are built in the same factory as the Redwoods & they are built with aluminum truss roofs on 16 -24" centers, so I think it would be a safe bet the Rushmore is the same.

So, does this mean it is safe or not safe to walk on the roof?

Also, it is true that the Rushmore assembly line was moved to the Redwood plant in an attempt to improve the quality of the Rushmores. (This was told to me by Crossroads Northwest Regional Factory Rep.) However, the early Rushmores (those prior to the 2014 model year) were not built at the Redwood plant.

The last I had heard, they are no longer building the Rushmore.

I'm pushing 270# & go up the ladder onto to my roof regularly, so I wouldnt hesitate to go on the roof.

I believe you are correct. The move to the Redwood line was, of course, before they stopped making them.
