Countertop Scratches

On my 2012 Rushmore 35RL there are a few scratches on the counter tops. DW would like for these scratches to go away. These are some kind and of solid countertops but I don't know what other than I know it's not a real stone.
Does anyone know what this stuff is, Corian? Imatation Corian? If I do the wrong thing on the right stuff or the right thing on the wrong stuff it'll only make it worse and I'll end up in deep doodoo

My counter top came with a booklet in the manuals package and is made by LG. Look and see if you have a manual for the counter top.

My builder freind says you can use an extremely fine automotive type wet sand paper & buff them out, didnt ask what extremely fine was but guessing 2000 grit or similar.

If this stuff is similar to Corian, I have found instructions and a kit to take scratches out and restore the shine.

If you look under the cabinets and up to the counter top bottom, can you see a brand name??

This is the instructions for my LG countertop.

Quote:
Repairing Scratches

For removing superficial scratches, rub in a circular motion with a wet #7448 Scotch Brite buffing pad until the scratches are removed. Clean thoroughly with soap and water and let dry.

Deep scratches can be removed by carefully sanding lightly with 120 grit sandpaper followed by 220 and 320-grit sandpaper. Then rub the surface with a wet #7448 Scotch Brite pad in a circular motion to restore the finish. For added protection, or if any additional luster is desired, after the surface is dry, apply a non-wax polish cleaner or other recommended surface dressing and wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Wipe dry using another clean cloth.

It's about 1/2" thick and supported by plywood from underneath.
