I have a 2013 lincoln we bought this year. This is our 5th weekend out and we came out to a blown dc fuse which shut down both fridges causing us to throw away all our food, not to mention the smell from the rotting food. Any idea why the fuse might have blown? Concerned about putting food in them and leaving for the week.Edited by: sdbison92

I take it you installed the new fuse back in and everything is working? Does the fuse only control the fridge or anything else?

I would look into one of those auto reset breakers you can replace the fuse with. I think you can pick them up at auto parts stores.

That's not a bad idea, but it doesn't fix the problem.

I am not sure if anything else is on that fuse. It was a bad idea if there is. I will check into that fuse. I have never heard of those.

Yep, put a new fuse in and it works. I'm not sure if anything else is on that fuse but I hope not. Nothing else shut down.

Would this be the fuse on the fridge control board, or one in the distribution panel? My dealer (that would be ex dealer) sent a kid out to check our fridge. Long story short, he blew the 5 amp ATC fuse on the control board. Nothing on the fridge would work. Our Norcold also has a glass AC fuse. I would suppose it is for the boiler heaters. IIRC, that is all the AC is used for.

It is the fuse in the distribution panel. We are going to turn the fridges on for the next 3 days with nothing in them to test Them. Hopefully it is a freak thing that won't happen again. Edited by: sdbison92

Just curious. Did you check for anything else on the fridge circuit? If so, problem may be somewhere besides fridge. I haven't had the need to check our Rushmore, but I've seen lots of weird wiring in RV's. Scarey to think about it blowing a second time full of food.

We decided to leave it till Wed and see if it happens again. Off course without food in it. Hopefully it is just a fluke but I might still look around the wiring.
