I have a Washington model Rushmore with an ice maker. The clear plastic hose
that runs from the water supply to the refrigerator kinks and a small leak occurs when I close the slide. It has happened 3 times in different locations. Each time it'd has been patched. It is leaking again. Has anyone had this problem and if so, how did you fix it.
I purchased plastic line from Home Depot and just ran a new one. Instead of installing it where it folded (kinked) like the old one I used a line that was longer and wrapped it loosely around the wire support so that it folded up like a spring when the slide closed. That was two years ago and have not had the problem since.
I will say, though, that routing the new line into the area below the frig was a bugger but it can be done. I drilled a new hole to make routing easier.
Hope this makes sense. If not, PM me and I'll try to explain further or take a picture of what I mean.
Here is what I did and it seems to work just fine. The ice maker water line loops around the flexible support and acts like a spring compressing and has some "give" when the slide is closed.
