Our problem Rushmore
We bought a 2013 Rushmore from Camping World and I have to say , I believe it has been there more than on the road. We have had nothing but problems and are considering checking into the lemon law. I love the layout but hate the construction. Why put out crap and try to sell it for class I will never know. Here is a list that we had to have fixed:
Shower door broke when we bought camper.
Handle on shower door fixed 3 times
2 slides our of whack
Tubing to ice maker had staple through it and leaked on floor
Stabilizer jack in back broke when we bought camper
Stereo outside compartment broke when bought camper
DVD player inside broke when bought camper
Fresh water tank cracked
All overhead cabinet doors broke
All latches for drawers had to be replaced
Strut on door broke
Fridge outside broke
Seal around slides leaked
Folding kitchen chair broke
Compartment door to outside TV broke
Screen door is bent
Now here we sit on the way to South Dakota, in Welcome, MN. We pulled in , went to put slides out, and two on same side, door side, will not go out. We called Lippert to see what the problem is and they told us to reset it. We did, but one slide still will not move and the other goes out almost side ways and we can not get it to go back in. Oh did I mention shower handle fell off again, also door on shower is out of whack for the third or fourth time.
Really wished we had read more reviews on this camper before we bought it. We sold everything we had last month to take our dream camper and our dream to travel fulltime. Sitting with a lemon is not we had in mind, draining our pocket book, how do you make this right?"

Dan, I wish I could welcome you to the forum under better conditions for you.
But, as one Wisconsinite to another, Welcome.
If you are on your way to full timing and you have sold everything, that means you probably don't have a real strict schedule. Maybe you should consider turning around and heading for the factory. Get everything fixed, then maybe you will be able to continue on your journey as previously planned.
Just a thought.
I wish you the best in what ever you decide.

Sorry for your problems especially since you made a tremendous commitment. I second Lloyd's comments about returning to the factory. Lots of reports of proper factory response recently. The warranty department does good work.
Wish you good fortune and best of luck keep us posted.

Whether you are still under warranty or not, your best bet is the factory as was previously mentioned. I would NOT even think about that decision JUST GO. You have too much to lose to procrastinate, after all you are talking about getting your home fixed....
PS....Good Luck to You..

Thanks
I really like the idea about the factory. How does a guy go about getting an appointment and all?

Don't give up!! Keep calling. Ask them to put you thru to "somebody" who can be of assistance to your situation.
Did you try and explain your problems with the person that answered the phone?
Keep a record of who you talked to when, what was said, etc.
Actually, I think Randy is the head of the repair dept. I don't know that he does phone calls any more.

Try Terry Bauman. Call at 9 a.m. They open at 8 a.m. (the office - the shop opens at 7). This is the time my husband was usually successful in reaching someone. Going to the factory for service is so worth the effort!

I'll second Terry Bauman, he was a tremendous help to us while on the road with a torn roof membrane. Made our emergency warranty repair painless by accepting full responsibility for it up front. I got right to him at about 8:15 am.

You are correct Randy is the head of the repair dept. He is the head guy in the New building they just built and we toured at the factory rally...
drsnsls
The phone number that a previous posters gave (260-593-2866) is Customer Service, for Redwood & Crossroads. The reps they told you to talk to Lynn and Terry Bauman, I believe are Cruiser reps. You need to listen to all the prompts and push the one for Rushmore ..and then tell them you want to schedule an appointment for Randy's crew to work on your camper...

Rushmore
Do you all think they will work on our camper, we have been out of warranty for about 3 months or so. We did get a extendable warranty from Good Sam though. Our Dealer has been good to us, but like I said it has been there more than with us.

I am sorry I gave you some incorrect info.. If you call 260-593-2866 and push prompt 2 twice you will be able to talk to customer service...
I would insist that they give you an appointment to have your Rushmore worked on. You should not have a problem getting an appointment.
If your dealer has been so good to you why do you still have so many unresolved issues.?? The list you have on your lead post is quite long. Go to the factory and have them all taken care of....IMHO

They fix what is wrong but then something else goes bad. Nothing that they have worked on but the shower and it's just a bad design. Everything they fix is fine. I did send a email to customer service at crossroads but will call today, We are also asking for help from the service manager where we bought it. Thanks for all the info, will keep you all posted.

It helps to be aggressive not angry, just don't take no for an answer. Keep up on communication. I would also think they would honor the GS warranty as long as the issues you have are covered under that program. Check that throughly.
Good Luck

To add to what everyone else has already said, I took mine in while at the Rally this year, and I had 5.5 hours of work done, on a slide as well, and the charge was $0. The new president told us at the rally that if your warranty is past, and the problem is definitely workmanship or quality, they will fix it. I believe what happened to me is a prime example. I was over 4 months past warranty by the way.
Travel well, travel safe,
Jim
