for those of you out there wondering the hieght of the rushmore is not what crossroads say it is you have to have 13.6 feet to clear the top of the front AC unit crossroads say the hieght is 12.6 with AC but I found out when I tryed and put mine into a 13 foot door at a storage building luky we were watching and did not hurt any thing hopes this helps others out there Jim&Carol

Jim, my 2012 Rushmore was listed at 12'9" . Now I cannot believe they would list it as that and be open for litigation for an accident of a unit not clearing 13 feet. I know they might have called the door 13 feet but did anyone actually measure it to be sure? Now please do not think I am questioning your integrity here.....I own one and just trying to be logical. I certainly would like to know if mine is over 13 feet.

yes I do Jim. Do they publish that information as to height without the front conditioner which is an option. I will be up to camping world this spring with the unit and will certainly question this with them. I appreciate the information. Wouldn't want to find out the hard way.

most overpasses on interstates and highways are either 16 feet or fourteen feet. There is a website that lists low clearance bridges in every state.
http://www.aitaonline.com/Info/Low%20Clearances.html

there is a bunch of bridges under 13'6"

Bill,
Thanks for the info, and even though I have a Magellan with height indicator, I will look at my routes before I travel and then look at this to see if I'll be on any of those routes. Proactive is always best

Thanks again,
Jim

Tator,
I always laugh when I read the disclaimer at the end of every states list. I guess is you tear off a shroud or an air conditioner you call them and they correct it LOL

The height of your unit at the front air conditioner would be directly rated to the height of your tow vehicle and how level it is towing the rig. If you have a 4X4 it could easily raise the height of your unit. same if you have air bags on the truck or if you have a dually. All things to consider!!!

yes I know all the things that you said could affect the hieght but I haul RV's from IN. and know what I am to do when we did the hieght we had the 5er level and the truck air bags up where they should be when pulling the trailer has to be level to get all the air flow correct to pull for best fuel millage when we tryed and put in to building we let all air out of bags and it still would not clear a 13 ft door since this happened told dealer where we bought 5er and he measured his other units and said we where wright and he would tell other owners Jim&Carol

I just measured my 2014 Rushmore Washington and the front one was 13 foot and the rear one was 12.8. That is with the unit level and hooked to the truck.
