Rushmore?

Does anyone on this forum have anything good to say about a rushmore? If so, please commit.

It does seem like you hear a lot of negative posts about the Rushmore line, but I have also seen some positive posts about them. You just need to remember people are more likely to post negative posts when their upset when there "higher end" 5th is having problems. I'm sure there are a lot of happy Rushmore owners out there that we will never hear from.

Happy owners

I have a 2014 Rushmore lincoln that we purchased new in July 2013. We have used the unit 3x so far. We did have to return the unit for a few minor things initally and all was fixed except some thread issue on the awning. The dealer has ordered a new awning from crossroads and I will be getting this fixed very soon. Overall, I am very happy and I personally have not had any major issues. I am working on a couple of upgrades right now. I have tiled the kitchen sink backsplash with mosiac glass tile and will be adding a receiver hitch to the back of the rv for a bike rack. I did purchase a 5yr warranty just in case of future issue. With 5 slide outs, I think this was a wise purchase.

We have extended stayed in our 2014 Lincoln 4 times since May, 2013. We have had it out several times for weekends and a couple of weeks at a time here and there also. We LOVE our RV! Did we have some warranty issues? Yes. Did it take a while for us to learn our new home on wheels? Absolutely! However we wouldn't have it any other way. We have stayed in hot temps: 90+ and low temps: 19 degrees. We are very happy with our choice. We traded in our 2008 Heartland RV we had for 6+ years and there are many differences between them. There are things we really miss about our last one, but there are so many other things we love about our Lincoln! We started out a bit discouraged as we were hoping to have a good relationship with the service provider associated with the sales team. Boy were we disappointed! We found another service provider to have all of our warranty work done that really go above and beyond. We are so thankful for them. So important for your over all satisfaction of a new rv.

We have been in ours for a year now. Good & bad. Have not towed it. Just staying in one spot. Love it now. Have had replace microwave first month, with a different brand. Repair A/C ducting in living room area. Added two extra A/C vents in ceiling. Nice and cold now. Rewired bedroom A/C unit. Wiring was bundled together from factory
wrong. Small melt down. Glad we were home. Furniture holding up very well. Lots of little issues. Heat ducting not secured correctly. Hope you are a handyman or have a good dealer who take of you. I did not.

We've had our unit about 1 1/2 years now. A few issues, but overall, we are happy.

My concern more than anything is the dealer network. Crappy work everywhere I've ever been. I have a good independent service man now that can do my annual inspections and warranty work, but what if I move.

I think you can see a couple pictures with the link here (if it worked). I still haven't put grout in it yet. I am waiting for warmer weather.

Nicely done! I love the look of this tile! I especially like the black glass tiles. I bet they really pick up the gloss of the refrigerators. Just beautiful, like it was meant to be there all along. I went with something a bit more neutral with slate to match the floor. Tile sure adds so much to a blank area!

Remember, these units travel down the road at highway speeds and down some not so well maintained roads to boot. Over the past 22 years of rving I've learned that lesson with all my units. We've been extremely happy with our Rushmore 35M Monticello, but we've taken it to the dealer for several small issues and one slide issue. These units are manufactured of components from multiple suppliers and Rushmore takes care of all component issues the first year. You won't find that with most other manufacturers, you'll be left to deal with each vendor separately.

Nice tile job, James. That's a fancy touch.

As for the Rushmore line, I agree with the poster who pointed out that it's usually the ones who are frustrated that you hear from on these forums. An RV is a lot like a boat, it is used as soon as you pull off the lot with it. If you buy one, expect to have a few problems with it. If you go into it expecting it, you'll be much happier. Buying from a dealer with a rep for customer service after the sale is the key to ensuring a stress free ownership experience.
