I just purchased a new 35ck and was looking for some suggestions for the PDI. I take delivery on the 3rd of July and don't want to leave the lot having overlooked something. This is my first 5er and I will be fulltime'n. Any tricks or tips for a newbie are welcomed and encourage.

Thanks

Scott

Here is a list. Just scroll down the page and choose which ever topic you want to download. There is a PDI list there so don't miss it.

Hope this helps you out.

Old Farmer,

Thanks that list looks perfect. I am taking the girlfriend out on our first trip this July. We will be far away from the dealership so I hope to catch all the little things in this pdi. If anyone has any pointers with these rushmores I am all ears.

Semper Fi,

Scott

Congrats on the new rushmore. Bring a videocamera and record everything. Have them not only demonstrate how every system works but try it yourself if front of them so you know you can do it. Have them open up and show you the water heater and how to do the winterization/dewinterization w/ it. The water pump should be in w/ the water heater but have them show you that too. Don't settle for explanations of things make sure they are demonstrated and every system works (including slide, microwave etc). Bring the awning in and out. If they did your hitch and you haven't ever worked it, have them help you do it and video tape that as well. We have referred back to our video from the PDI a few times. Enjoy and have fun!

Here's a suggestion, ask the dealer for the name of a close by campground. Complete the PDI and spend an overnight in the nearby campground with the understanding that if you have issues you'll be stopping by the dealer in the AM to correct any issues. Don't take your first big trip without trying everything out close to home or the dealer.

Best of luck!

A dealer I dealt with, once even agreed to pay for a weekend at a nearby cg so I could get it all figured out!

Thanks guys I'm going to follow all of the above advice. Another question just came to mind: I am going to be full time'n close to the ocean is there any considerations I need to be weary of living so close to salt water?

Stay on top of any surface rust on the frame and running gear, touch-up with a good rust reformer and black metal spray paint. Reminder to cover your tires to block UV damage.
