Sewer flush leak

That is my sewer flush hose. I suppose that goes up to a back flow preventer? If so, it is leaking. Means I have to remove the toilet and cut out the bottom of the linen closet. I can guarantee there will be a door there when I am through. Any thoughts y'all might share?

Will, the Rushmore is probably different but on my 5er, I can drop one side of the bottom membrane and access the side of my black tank where the hose attaches to the tank. Usually about 3-4 ft is dropped just enough to get my arms in there to unscrew the fittings. I have had to do this a couple of times when the screen on the sprayer has clogged with TP.

I actually have a door cut in the belly membrane. This is up above the water heater. I'm thinking the flush line goes up to a backflow preventer, then down to the black tank.

Ours is probably different than yours but our back flow valve is right behind the outside shower box. Hose sweeps up from the back flow inlet about 18" into the preventer and then down to the black tank. Back flow preventers in general are installed at the highest accessible point and then down to the drain. Mine did leak at the back flow connection, needed about another half a turn to seat.

It's boxed in now, but not for long! I bought one of those oscillating cutters at Lowe's today.

We've noticed a sewer odor in that closet for some time. Guess the backflow valve could be the culprit. I may call Crossroads Monday. They've always been nice, but not of to much help.

Just a follow up. I removed the panel behind the toilet and went back with a brass anti siphon valve. Then a good pvc check valve on the black tank side. Wifey wanted the storage space so I made a panel to set in to hide the mess. You can see all that quality workmanship from the factory in the pictures. I suppose they had a leak and cut a hole in the original bottom of the closet.

And to think that someone at the factory didn't notice the black water aerator (that is known to leak) about 1" from a 110v junction box. with out a water barrier in between the two. Guess RV's are not required to have inspections like a new home is.?

Like Harley said I would shield that outlet as it is only a matter of time when the vacuum break leaks during a backflush. I finally removed it after the second valve also leaked.

Glad you guys jarred my thought process! I rebuilt the toilet while I had it out, but don't think I ever realized that box was there. I'll put a shield back there. Thanks!
