If you are talking about the Lippert 7 function remote, I'm pretty sure the control box is mounted on the partition between the two sections of the storage compartment. Just above the battery box. Of course, the remote is the transmitter and the control box is just a receiver, so I don't know where the red light is supposed to be.

We are Rving in 100 degree temps. Dometic A/C (15000btu) struggles to keep the trailer below 89 degrees.
Have Polar tec package (?)butkitchen wall got to 100 degrees. Placed thermometer in out put. Air get down to only 60 degrees.

Double door fridge has trouble staying in the cool range (stays in 40s )overnight gets down to 35 degrees.

Anyone else having similar issue?
If so what is the cure

JCKPNK...if you ar in 100dg weather in Texas and the fridge and A/C are cooling as you said above, it sounds to me like you are doing about the best you can expect to. These rigs are not insulated as a 2x6 wall and the roof is the same way. Camping under a tree might help. You could also try a fan to blow air over the fridge fins if you don't already have one.

With one a/c that is the best that you are going to do with the temperatures that we have been having recently. The only way to combat that is to install a second a/c unit.

As far as the refrigerator we have the same problem. The units are just not designed to work well with high temperatures. You would think that as long as Dometic has been making refrigerators for the rv industry that they would have already redesigned the units to work in temperatures above 90 degrees.

I agree with George in that these absorption fridges just don't do well in high outside temps. I believe it has to do with the temperature differential between the fins and outside air. The ammonia solution removes the heat from the fridge but trying to dissipate that heat from the fins when the ambient air is already 100dgs is tough. I have often wondered what would happen if an A/C duct could be directed at the fins to blow cold air across the fins. Seems to me that would be a fairly easy design change.
