I googled the price of them and they're a bit out of my price range too! I will be sticking to the 105's!!!

When are you planning on installing the battery monitor? Any plans of putting panels up?

I do not plan to hack or chop into the walls. There appears to be a couple of pretty good systems out there that are install lite.

I plan to either use the Onan specific remote system (approx $500) where I don't have to wire anything really. It's a plug 'n' play type installation.

Or...

Use this other one that I can't remember right now that cost about $280 but does require some wiring.

The thought is that I want a system that will make sure the batteries are charged fully before the quiet time at night, as well as not requiring me to manually start it if I'm not at the RV (Hiking, biking, etc...)

That said, I am a little hesitant about my unit firing up on its own. I have also read where some earlier units caused the genny to fire up during transport...which clearly we don't want to have happen.

The great news is our PD4950s are 4 stage charging systems, so the runtime of the gennys is reduced greatly. Over this last week I experienced it first hand and it worked perfectly.

I'll post the links up to both units on Monday.

I've learned a ton off this forum, and in the spirit of giving back will post pictures etc to all the products used and the installation.

Headed to Colorado in September for 10 days on a dual sport motorcycle trip, so it will be all done before then.

I think i found the two systems you're talking about! I don't quite like the idea of my genie starting up without me there. Im planning a 2 month trip to Moab, UT to ride Moto there for a few weeks and then head to Cali, Az, Tx. I am hoping to get my stuff done before then as well!

No plans to put up solar panels?

Yes....when budget allows me to do it properly and not jigsaw piece a few low cost panels together.

I like the flexible expandable systems but they ain't cheap!!!!

BTW look into this. My friend who has a solar setup on his sailboat recommended this monitor. He has been researching a lot.

Outback Power Inc. - Communications FLEXnet DC

And look into this as well. it might help out with any questions you have!

Here's a couple of links to the products I am considering.

Option 1 - Xantrex Auto Gen Start - Power Accessories | Automatic Generator Start | Xantrex

Option 2 - ONAN Branded Auto Start - Cummins Onan RV Generator Energy Command AutoStart Control

Trimetric Battery Monitor - Trimetric 2030RV Battery System Monitor

All three (3) seem to get great reviews across various forums.

That outback monitor looks to be top gear stuff. Thanks for sharing....I'm adding that to the list.

Yeah my 2014 3612 doesn't have an inverter either. Looks like they downgraded when Thor took over maybe? I'm looking at doing some troubleshooting soon so this thread has been helpful in getting started. Thanks

Matt any luck running your refrigerator off the batteries? And if so, for how long did you run it?

Eric,
I see you live in Virginia. Where did you buy your elevation. I got mine at MCGEORGE'S Rolling Hills...
