I do not plan to hack or chop into the walls. There appears to be a couple of pretty good systems out there that are install lite.
I plan to either use the Onan specific remote system (approx $500) where I don't have to wire anything really. It's a plug 'n' play type installation.
Or...
Use this other one that I can't remember right now that cost about $280 but does require some wiring.
The thought is that I want a system that will make sure the batteries are charged fully before the quiet time at night, as well as not requiring me to manually start it if I'm not at the RV (Hiking, biking, etc...)
That said, I am a little hesitant about my unit firing up on its own. I have also read where some earlier units caused the genny to fire up during transport...which clearly we don't want to have happen.
The great news is our PD4950s are 4 stage charging systems, so the runtime of the gennys is reduced greatly. Over this last week I experienced it first hand and it worked perfectly.
I'll post the links up to both units on Monday.
I've learned a ton off this forum, and in the spirit of giving back will post pictures etc to all the products used and the installation.
Headed to Colorado in September for 10 days on a dual sport motorcycle trip, so it will be all done before then.
