Battery Upgrade Photos?
I have a new Elevation on order and I'm looking for suggestions on how to install four 6v batteries in the existing compartment. Has anyone fabricated a rack and do you have any pictures?

Sorry I dont have the link or name of box, but there's a fellow on the Redwood forum that used a marine battery box & installed 4-6volt batteries & looked very professional. I would imagine the Elevation battery compartment is the same as the Redwood, they are/used to be built in the same plant.

Thanks Travelin Texans. I checked out the Redwood forum and read every post with the words Batteries or Battery in them. It was interesting to read as some of their newer members learned about the 12v lifestyle, but I never did see anything about serious upgrades. I'll keep looking and see if I can find your marine battery box.

Thanks for the links.

I have 4 Trojan t-105's in my 2013 Elevation. This was when i was installing them yesterday and i didn't wire them up yet, they fit perfect, planning on making a small rack possibly and throwing another 2 or 4 on top of those!

That's a perfect fit. Is that in the compartment just to the right of the gen?

Mark,
need an after pic or it didn't happen
One thing I've heard is to make the leads as close to the same length and size as possible BETWEEN batteries.

Looking at this picture again, what did you do about ventilation?

Nice setup. Do you worry about ventilation? I'm trying to decide how much effort I should put into venting the gasses out of that compartment.

I only had room for two T1o5 Trojans. You can see the vent tubes coming off the battery boxes plus where the tube hooks on to the air intake on the front wall of the camper.

Nice. That's really clean.
I ordered a pair of these boxes yesterday. I measured the compartment and two of them will just fit. The lids don't offer any venting though. I'll have to make something to vent them. I like your idea of venting the two to each other and then using the one factory vent in the compartment. I don't want to cut another hole in mine if I don't have to.

in my case, the bottom of the cabinet is just 2 inch wide rails, so the venting is out the bottom.
In my 5'er I did install vent tubes
