271bh ladder installation

Has anyone installed a ladder on the back of the 271BH Z-1 yet? Can it be done?

Yes, got a used ladder at rv salvage when I was at the rally for $15. Installed on right rear wall. Make sure to get one with long top arms to clear tub skylight.

If dealer does it, then you can go back if they screw it up. Our dealer installed ladder on our previous trailer.

Depends if blocking was installed in the rear wall while unit was built... Is a rear ladder an option? If yes, the blocking is there. If no, no blocking and the center ladder support won't have the proper backing to attach to.... Best of luck!

Well, I am paying Camping World to check if it can be done. Than I am getting a price of what it will cost.
When you think about it I am being billed for them tell me if they can or not do it and that should be a customer value add when you consider ALL the negative things I have read out here and on other forums. I will let this go and pay them for it and in the long run they will loose a customer.

Lets seewhat they do?

It would seem to me that any dealer worth their salt should know whether or not it can be done and there should be NO charge to tell you, only charge to install if it can be done?

My 2 cents...after touring the factory, I would expect the backing is there. I would push CW to credit labor for checking towards install labor.

Nope, still at the dealer.....

I am going to check on her in a few days to see if they were nice enough to cover my 3000 dollar hitch from the elements and I also took many photos before leaving her.

I am told it cannot be done. Although I can't imagine the right tools and the right parts wouldn't do the trick? I also want to put a cargo carrier on the back and the bumper can only hold 300 lbs. I was hoping to have a welder weld the hitch to the fram on the back so I can bring my 4000 genny with me when I go on long trips. the genny only weighs about 150 lbs but the bouncing would shake the bumper loose so I rather have it welded.... any comments out here?

Ken, what warranty do you have - 1 or 2 year? Before attaching anything to the frame, I would suggest that you be out of warranty. If anything would go wrong with the frame or anything else, CR would probably not cover it. Just saying. Good luck.

If you do this I would be interested in how it works out.

Going on round three to pick up my TT.....I will spare everyone the long winded read of why my TT was not ready each time. I have my fingers crossed for tomorrow at 8 am!

Yay, I have my TT back. Dead battery and dirty carpet but I have to do a good twice over when the weather gets a little warmer. Like anyone really cares but I had to vent.

Must be a way

I have a 2017 Z-1 18 footer. There must be a safe way to install a ladder on the back. Did you ever contact the factory staff?
