Anyone have this hitch installed on a Nissan Armada? Even if not is it worth the 3 to 4 grand for it?

I was vice president of Hensley Mfg for 10 years before starting ProPride hitch almost 6 years ago.
The Hensley Arrow works well with short wheel-based tow vehicles because it projects the effective pivot point of the trailer to near the rear axle. When you project the pivot point you eliminate the leverage that the trailer has on the tow vehicle when towed with a conventional hitch. Without that leverage the wheel base does not need to counteract the force of the leverage.

I don't think they are 3 to 4 grand, are they? I could be wrong. They change their pricing almost daily.

3,399 for the cheapest one. When you consider I bought my current setup for around 400.00 a price increase like that is really intimidating. I know I need it but I can't shell that out after buying a 20,000 TT cash. If someone has a better price and can put it together for me I'm game!

WOW!

They are getting up there aren't they? And, they aren't even the best pivot point projection hitch available.

It's a huge amount of money for a hitch. I just want to drag my 271bh behind me. I'm not looking to deliver livestock.

Buy a Reese straight line dual cam hitch and it will do what you need it to do. A heck of a lot less money too.

dalemac377 is correct that the Reese Dual Cam is the best conventional hitch.

Just don't be misled that it does the same thing as either a Hensley Arrow or ProPride 3P. They do NOT do the same thing.

The Reese uses cams to offset the sway forces. If the sway forces are greater than the cam forces the trailer will sway.

The ProPride (or Hensley) project the pivot point to the rear axle so that sway never starts. It tows with the same pivot point location as a 5th wheel and 5th wheels do not need cams to hold them in line.

I have another test run coming up in a month and I'll load down my TV and the TT and hit the highway. If I still have the sway and uneasy feeling I'll probably put out the money for the least expensive hitch offered to me. Who ever comes in the lowest will get my business.

Sounds like a plan.

They have a lot of used hitches they sell so they I'm sure they have a good price for you. I have some used Arrows laying in the shop too if you decide to go with a used (they call them reconditioned or remanufactured but they are used) hitch from them.

A NEW 3P hitch is $900 LESS than the new Arrow price you quoted above.

What pricing would you have for me on a 3P reconditioned?

I don't get very many of them and I have a waiting list for them. When I have them I sell them for $1999.

Well, I spent the last time going down the parkway with white knuckles. I ordered an HA and I am hoping this will give me the safety I am looking for that will give me back my dreams of a great summer.

I'll update everyone on what kind of difference it makes.

Stay tuned....

I know this is an old thread, can you share your experience with the Hensley?

Thanks
