Equalizer 4 point sway control

I have a slightly used hitch, it's in great shape. As title states it's a 4 point sway control rated for 600lb tongue weight and 6,000lb trailer weight. I will leave the ball on it and am asking $400.00 for it. 704-500-3235 located in NC.

I have a 1200 pound used 6 times that I haven't been able to sell for $300. Good luck.

Just checking in, either of you sell your hitches? I also have a 600/600# Equalizer collecting dust. Just doesnt seem there is a market for these.

We started with a light 4,000 lb TT as we were towing with a Tahoe, no slides, we do a lot of travel, up to 6 hours from home, the Tahoe was just too short of a wheelbase and just didn't feel comfortable with the long distances we went so we upgraded the TV to a 2500 duramax, needless to say, it doesn't take long to upgrade RV's so we purchased a 5er this winter. We never camped before and weren't sure if we liked it so we took the long way around getting to where we are now, spent a lot of money but we hope this year we get out a lot. The 4 point sway control really worked great while we had it.

What ever you buy make sure you get what is needed for your TT, this is not the case of more is better, if it's too heavy for your TT it will not ride correctly and WILL give you problems.

Coopers dad... my tt is very similar in weight to your ST290qb. I would opt for 1200 lb bars.

I was going to get 1200's but when I call equalizer they said 1000/10000 would be sufficient.

We are 675 tongue and 6192 empty but with full tanks and battery. The dealer gave me those numbers so they will go up when we pack it but I don't expect a significant increase.

Yeah, get the 1,000 the 1,200 is too much and it makes it difficult to adjust the bars for correct operation, will make it too stiff, not enough weight to make them function properly.

I can tell you I load heavy on the tongue. My tt was around 5700 lbs the day I brought it home. It now weighs 7000 lbs and I have close to 1000 lb tongue weight. Just my real world numbers. I run 1200 lb Reese dual cam that I will be selling with my tt because we are looking at an 11000 lb gvwr tt or a 13000 lb gvwr 5er. Yup we are going heavy and matching the new TV to the next trailer.

I agree - Coop you should use the 1000# bars. Our 2012 Zinger was around 700# and our 1000# bars worked great.

Our new TT requires 1200# (dry and empty tongue weight is 991#).

Sking - PM me a pick of your hitch if you have time. If it's complete - we may be able to work something out. We will be looking for a 1200# soon.

Also guys - I just sold my 1000# Eaz-Lift roundbar. Put those babies on Craigslist. Sold mine in about a month for $250. Free to list and worth a shot.

I had a trip out west planned for our first trip. Around 5K roundtrip and didnt want any sway issues, including the whipping winds you get in South Dakota/Iowa. Also planning a trip to Glacier this year, so I wanted zero sway issues with all that driving. Did my research and trolled about 30 forums. I ended up splurging on a P3 Propride hitch. Yes, 2K is alot, but it was less than a Hensley arrow.

I can't compare how other friction hitches would have handled, but my trailer never flinched during a couple wind storms/bad weather. Worth every cent in my opinion. One windy day was really bad. Tractor trailers were swerving in and out of lanes. We even saw a Ram 1500 & trailer jack-knifed/burned out when driving through southern MN on our way back. Had just happened. That was proof enough for me we made a good decision. I usually drive North to South from Ohio on vaca, those winds out west can be brutal.

Man, you're killing me with this Ram story, seen you post it twice now. We are picking up our brand new Ram 1500 on Saturday. And to boot, we are planning a trip out to S. Dakota in early June via, you guessed it, southern Minnesota.

MacksPoppie,

I know ProPride sells refurbs. I talked to the owner when I bought mine and I thought he mentioned he also buys them back to refurb to almost-new.

If the price is right, someone should jump on this. It is an incredible hitch.

ProPride Hitch

Sean does buy back the hitch but the price is not acceptable. We paid $2300 and have only used it a couple of times. Its an awesome piece of equipment that does exactly what it says - NO SWAY! We'll sell for $1500 if anybody is interested. Pickup only in Central Texas. Thanks!

Good to know for future reference.

You should post it in the classifieds on the forum if you have not already done so. $1500 is a steal.
