Hey guys, my wife and I just bought our first camper. It's a 302KB. I am towing it with a 2013 Ram 1500 Express with the hemi. The factory says it's rated just over 8,500lbs. of towing capacity. We're about to go on our first trip. About 300 miles one way. My question is, did I get talked into to much camper for my truck? The dry weight on the camper is 6,352lbs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You will be close to your limit. When you factor in the hitch weight, passengers, food, water, gas, dishes, clothes it will be close but probably OK. You will notice some power loss on the larger hills. Best thing to do is load everything up and go to the scales and take several measurements - RV alone, tongue weight, truck weight etc. Hopefully you have a good WD hitch and sway bar.
I would replace those p tires for an LT tire more stable
