EFI live?

Anyone running EFI live tunes? Im thinking of dropping some $$$$ in some upgrades for my TV. I don't have and solid numbers on a long haul yet but my DIC on the DMax said about 12 mpg on a short run, about 40 miles. How much gains have you seen in performance and economy?

Don't have EFI - seems to me the truck runs pretty well just stock. I did just get the Banks Speedbrake and it works great. I have had issues going down steep hills and having to use the truck brakes too much and this really solved that problem. Don't need to use the brakes hardly at all now on hills.

I have efi live. On my 06 duramax best 750.00 I spent
You will not believe the difference. I went from 12.5 mpg
Empty to almost 20.0 on the hwy.
Towing it does great reprograms trans shift points with the tow button engaged
From a stop I can smoke the rear tires till I let of the gas pedal
Its a 10 out of ten for me.
Make sure you get a exhaust temp gage

I am running EFI Live with the DSP5 switch using Idaho Rob tunes from ATP Trucks. If all you are adding is a tuner - you will not see a lot of gains in MPG - there are too many other things that impact fuel and power. I added a Cold Air Intake, changed the inter-cooler boost tube (increase air flow). I have seen small gains in power and MPG - but nothing to brag about. You could spend a fortune in mods, go to Diesel Place and do some research. Time well spent - before you lay out cash!!!! PS: I am happy with my tuner and set-up. Exhaust is next.

Well I change out my exhaust turbo back no muffler but I did see a drastic difference
With just the 2 items did not change intake since everything I read said was a waste of money unless the engine was built.

I was wondering that myself. Mine is still all stock. Everyone on the Duramax forum seems to think it has great benefits. Doesn't recycle exhaust gases back through the motor. The plate seems like the quick way to do it.

When you put the block off plate in you need a "Finger Stick" to fool the computer that the EGR is cycling in dirty exhaust into the motor. It looks for a reduction in the Mass Air Sensor. Try Kennedy Performance in Wisconsin.
Got mine "Plugged,Piped,Stuck,Chipped".

On my 2007 I installed the banks 6 gun tuner pk. New intercooler, intake, 5" exhaust and tuner. Mileage improved about 4 mpg hp and torque improved immensley. I don't have the increase numbers in front of me but was around 500 hp and 900 ftlbs of torgue
This new one with Banks new intake, exhaust and tuner is at 590 hp and 1120 ft lbs torque on the dyno

I'm considering the Raceme Ultra along with the DPF & EGR deletes on my 2011 Ram. Any Ram guys out there have any experience with that?

Looking at the signatures I thought it was just a G.M. lack of power but now I see it's a Ram thing too, skip the tuners buy a Ford!!

Not doing it because I lack power. Im tired of pumping soot back through my engine to satisfy the tree huggers.

Put the tuner on mine manly for the added gauge functions (can monitor like 25-30 engine parameters). Also the pipe keeps the turbo cooler to save on that and have less heat in the oil from turbo. It is amazing how hot that turbo gets pulling a hill with 5,000-10,000 extra pounds on the back that a lot of people don't have or do.
And not to start a whole truck war but is there ever ENOUGH power?

Wow Lazy D, when you said drop some cash, you really meant it!
Have fun installing all your goodies, I'm envious.
Didn't see a new pipe in your list, not doing that?
I'd definitely be interested in hearing performance numbers after all is complete.
Good luck!

Yeah, I'm not done yet. Magnaflow 4" is on the list as well as a transgo Jr and deeper pan. Just haven't ordered them yet.

Look at the Heartthrob Exhaust and Accessories their 4" gives a nice deep rumble.
They strive to keep cab noise as low as they can.
Also have read/heard 5" can get too loud inside, also isn't needed unless you get
700+ HP.
Like my 4" down tube back cat delete efficient high flow muffler.
One other thing on the EGR delete it reduces coolant load as you aren't trying to cool hot exhaust to pump back thru the motor.
