I had a 12" lube plate on the Cruiser. Upon examination of this one year old platediscovered it was beat to all get out. The interesting thing is that the 10" plate I had on for the first year wore much better and really did not need replacing. I got a new 10" plate this morning. Could it be that the 12" plate was to large? I do not know how that could be.

Art,

I don't feel that they are all made out of the same material. Seems like they used to last for yrs. I had problems with pieces flaking off and creating a mess. Also, I once had one of the tabs getting wedged between the king pin and the slot in the hitch preventing the hitch from locking. I no longer use them, just grease the king pin and plate.

Have had the lube plate on the PF36SK for five years with minimal wear showing. I check it each time we go out and keep a spare just in case. Allowing for the pin weight of the 39 footer, I am extremely pleased with its durability and the lack of grease being smeared all over everything.
