Sorry, for those wanting to see pics, that may not happen soon. And then I may not get any pics as it sits now, maybe if we get a nice day next week. But as quickly as possible the bed bed is coming off so I can move the utility bed from the '03 and get the hitch installed. I need to be ready to tow by Jan. 2nd. Also need to add running boards soon. And repaint the utility bed in a few months. When I'm done the truck won't look as nice as it came from the factory, but then I'm more about purpose than pretty.

The Detroit pension situation is that not city govt and related employees? I believe Harly was refering to the big 3 automakers. Sorry to continue off topic.

Jean-

Only considering leaving Toyota cause the 5er I will be looking at comes in at 9,200 lbs. dry weight and 1,700 lbs. pin weight. Tundra can't handle that especially in the Colorado high country. Drove a '14 Ram 2500 on Friday and the 800 lb. torque, 17,000 lb. tow capacity 2,500 lb. payload and new rear coil/air suspension make for a very impressive (to me) package and comfy ride.

Larry, I have the GMC version of that same truck (2013 Denali 3500HD). We've towed about 2500 miles with it (the truck has about 5500 miles now) and it tows way better than our 2008 Chevy 2500HD. I'm not sure exactly what GM did between 2008 & 2013 but it seems to have more power and pulls easier.

Have fun & post up some pics.

The 2015 Silverado HD is all new just like the 1500. Duramax/Allison remains about the same.

Art you are correct many changes, I was refering to power train Duramax/Allison. That is what Larry bought. I thought he was wise to save the cost difference between the two. He stated 12K savings>

I agree that Larry made a wise decision. The 2015 has a more roomy crew cab.

Larry did not get the 2015, he saved money by buying the 2013.

I don't think the 15's are out yet. the 14 hd still looks like the 13. they won't change till the 15 model. although the 1500's are new for 14.

Coastn,
You said you drove a new Ram HD with the shock system. I looked at Ram's site but couldn't find any detail on how that system works. Is there anywhere else I should be looking?

Thanks
Jim

Jim,
Glad you asked that question because I went to the Dodge Ram site and came up short. We might go diesel and trade the Tundra. Just looking.

Thanks,
Jean

Right, GM will convert the HD line to the new body style over Christmas shutdown and 2015 HD production is scheduled to begin in late Jan. Unlikely there will be any incentives on the 2015 HDs before this time next year. Between 2013 (my truck) and 2014, MSRP already increased over $1700 and the 2015s will probably be even more, so a likely $3500 increase 2013 to 2015. W/o any incentives in the next 6 months and little bargaining on a special order, the 2015 will easily cost $12k more.

Nice truck Larry. I want a gaser like that (though pref. not white).

I love the 2015 HD GMC...but really like the previous as well. Patience is a virtue...promised myself I would wait 1 more year before shelling out $$ for a truck.

GM is catching heck about the new body style, the cab has the worst shoulder room of all the trucks. I sat in a 14 1500 and at 6'9" I was miserable.
