My opinion is if your trailer comes loose or your hitch fails running down the road and you have people/family riding in it you could kiss them goodbye. Legal or not it is just dumb. JMHO

Sorry, but I actually like my mother-in-law, so I wouldn't do this. Not even a gerbel, or a pet of any kind...and I drive 55...I cannot imagine any trailer or 5th wheel ending upright if they ever came loose...law of averages say they will end up on their sides...and we know what happens then

Don't chance it, IMHO

I speak from experience of why you shouldn't do it. I was driving careful keeping plenty of distance from people and another driver lost control of their vehicle and came into my lane and this is what happened to me in a split second.

Wow! I was shocked by that Trailer Life listing that showed riders are allowed in camper shells, trailers, and fifth wheels in Michigan. I thought seat belts were required for all passengers.

How is riding in a trailer any different than riding in a class A or C? Those things come apart like a roll of toilet paper when they crash also.

Not saying it is a good idea but I don't see a lot of difference.

Neither do I. I haven't road in my 5er because I don't need to. I did ride in my friends and we sat at the table and had no problems at all. No worse than in the back seat of his truck.
