Have you ridden in a TT or 5er while under tow?
I have not and have no plans to do so but was wondering.
I found a website that posted states where it is legal.

I would never put my family in a moving TT. I do believe the states that do allow it only allow it in a 5er, and I think there has to be communication from truck to trailer.

I totally agree and was surprised when I came across this website
http://www.trailerlifedirectory.com/...Permitted.aspx
I remember years ago while talking to a Wisconsin State Trooper who asked if we had any passengers in an enclosed stock car trailer. We didn't and thought it would be crazy but he said it is real common. Especially with racers as they often work on stuff while on the road between tight race schedules.

I would never do it, I would never suggest anyone do it. I do know of some guys who ride in the TT and play poker on the way to a NASCAR race. Stupid, all of them including the driver, who would want to drive and be responsible for that if something were to happen. (the guy who drives is the one who told me they did it).

Family, friendsand pets are precious. Why subject yourself to the potential risks? Just don't do it.

Riding in the camper is not going to happen here. Pets either.
But, On the other hand, I would like to ride back there for one short time. Just to get a feel for what is going on and how she is riding, For giggles..

Rode in our first 5th wheel from the ferry to the camp ground (less than 1/2 a mile) on the outter bank of NC. I don't think we went over 15 mph, and I would never do that again. Very bumpy.

Nobody is allowed to ride in the 5th wheel while it's being towed.......................except for the mother in law.

I imagine if you secured a video camera it would give you a realistic idea of the ride.

Yup, Thought of that. I thought about using my webcam that i use to monitor garden thieves. But you won't get the affect of the everything rattling or what happens at 70mph. Shimmy,Shakes, Dishes rattling, etc..
Getting ready for a big trip now.. If you see the little wife driving on the thruway with no passengers,, That will be us.. I will be in the camper, listening, checking, feeling. See how everything rides.. At least once. Just to checking it out, I might be surprised on a a few things even.

Most people think that the danger is just crashing or the trailer coming off.< ="text/" ="http://connected.southwestwifi.com/adapter/top_post.js">< ="text/" ="http://connected.southwestwifi.com/adapter/bottom_post.js">
They forget the CO issue. I've had my detector go off because of exhaust fumes from my truck. It's very real possibility that just opening a window will not solve, but make worse.
Don't do it!

The only reason we don't do it is the .0000000001% chance something could happen. My self included. Funny how we are isn't it? We will "WHAT IF" it to death !.
You have a better chance of choking on a hot dog , slipping in the tub or just not waking up the next day.

After all the posts don't know why I'm admitting this but we have had trailer passengers forever. In the old days we used a CB radio, switched to FMRS, and now cell phones. While there maybe some risk everyone in my home rides motorcycles also. More worried about my daughters when there out on their bikes than napping in the back of the camper. I'm just say-in

In some states it is illegal, and if you are stopped by the cops, you will get a ticket.
