Ram will publish the base rear axle weight of an empty, base model truck with smallest available wheels and tires so your scaled weight of 600# over (including the hitch) is probably accurate.

Has anyone EVER heard of a rim blowing??

Most everything has "safety" factors built into them so a little over shouldn't be a problem. A lower PSI on a empty truck will increase ride and traction as more tread will be on the road. Look at how much air is in off road truck(5-15?). Just remember the door placards are NOT always right, remember the early Ford Explorer that had tire issues on driver side rear blowing because Ford had PSI lower than tire manufacturer recommended?
