Towing 5th wheel with an F150
Well, I can now say with confidence, that the F150 works FINE with our fifth wheel. We have a 26' Crossroads Cruiser 5th wheel and wanted the gas mileage of a F150 but were warned repeatedly that we needed a F250 to tow it. We bought our Ford F150 EcoBoost 2-wheel-drive after doing a lot of research. We towed all last year and started this year; a total of almost 3,000 miles. It was the only 2014 F150 rated to safely handle our trailer weight. We bought the heavy-duty payload package and tow package, 3.5L GTDI V6 engine with the 3.73 ratio limited slilp axle. I have had no trouble towing at highway speeds, and can actually pick-up speed towing up-hill to merge into traffic on the highway. There is a long, 7 mile hill on the Mass Pike around Westfield that I can tow up with no problem. The 8 foot bed and supercab (clamshell back doors) makes for a LONG truck, but I try to back into parking spaces so I don't get stuck.
So yes, Virginia, you can tow a 5th wheel with a F150. Just make sure it is rated for your 5th wheel weights.
