Towing vehicle

I am considering purchasing a 2005 Cruiser CTX, model CT29RLX. It has been pulled about 100 miles., used as a spare bedroom rather than a camper.............I have a 2005 1/2 ton GMC with 5.3 engine, towing package but not sure this is enough truck even with the aluminum framework on the CT29RLX...........I will not be pulling it too much either and only on short trips of 100=150 miles....................I am looking for advice on the towing unit.............any suggestions?

I would think with the proper hitch set-up you should be fine. I would suggest a Reese Dual-Cam or Equal-i-zer brand. Your displeasure will probably be found once you hit some hills / mountains.

+1 on the Reese dual cam. I pulled a 29 ft. Sprinter TT with an '01 GMC ext.cab 1/2 ton, 5.3L, 3.73 gear and tow pack. Did just fine. I had the Reese dual cam and it really made a difference on sway control compared to the friction control I had with a previous TT.

I have a 2007 CT31RL with dry weight of 6650 pounds, and my TV is a 2003 Chev. 1500 4 X4 with Quad street. Been in the Mt. at 8500 feet and it did pull it but it worked hard. You need to plan your route and watch out for braking. Flat land no problem but will pull down on the hills. I watch my tach and try to keep it under 4000. I also installed at temp gauge for the trans. My TT loaded is about 7700 pounds. Good luck.
