Low $30s sounds pretty low to me. Especially if you are considering getting the max tow and max payload.
If you are seriously looking, and want all you can haul or pull with the Eco-Boost, I really urge you to do your home work before you commit.

Thanks Lloyd. Well, I built the virtual truck on-line, and it has everything I think I need. Two wheel drive super cab, 3.5L eco-boost, tow package, 6 speed tranny, even got a rear-view camera. It is the XL and not the XLT which I guess brings down the cost a little. Once I get ready to buy about the only thing I can do is take in the certificate to the local dealer (through USAA) and see what happens. Worked great when I bought my wife's new Hybrid Camry. Still not quite ready to buy something but probably real soon.

Comparing the gas mileage on a 3.5L V6 to a 5.7L V8 is ... well unfair to both vehicles because with the F150 your towing capabilities will be much lower and for the Tundra you have a much larger engine with much greater towing capacity.

Obviously the decision is yours but most V6's will have better gas mileage than a V8. That shouldn't be your only deciding factor.

Don't forget that capacity doesn't equal what you should do. Toyota loves to tout that they pulled the space shuttle with a factory Tundra. Is that really an indication of what it can do? No. Personally I think that any decent sized vehicle could pull the space shuttle on flat ground over a short distance given enough time. The question is can you pull your camper up hill with a smaller engine and in that time where you are pushing that engine ... your gas mileage will be crap. Take into account where you will be towing and get more than you know you will need.

If you are married, momma will keep finding stuff to jam in that camper and you will keep inching closer and closer to your max and blow a transmission. I was in a truck when someone boiled the transmission fluid from their transmission because they had an undersized truck for their camper but were still "under weight." It was not pretty.

Check your figures on the 3.5 tt ford vs the 5.7 Tundra. The towing capabilities of the Ford is better than the Tundra. Plus it has a higher payload capacity.
The Tundra does not even come close on the payload capacity.

Again, thanks for the input and suggestions everyone. I decided on a 2013 (new) F150 with the eco-boost V6. It has the standard towing package rated at 9400 lbs. That's up from 6500 on my Tacoma. For what we are pulling, it will be a vast improvement. Got a good deal on an XLT. Can't wait to get enough miles on the truck to actually hook up the trailer and go camping. Has to be "broken in" by the end of April because I already have a campsite booked.

You'll be happy with the Ford. I am. Good luck. BTW, Ford recommends that you have around 1000 miles on before you tow a RV.

Yeah, that is what I read somewhere. Since this one is a 2013 and had been on the lot for a while, it already had almost 200 miles on it. Only 800 to go. The only thing I will probably do before then is actually hook it up and see if I need to make any adjustments to the hitch to get it level. But I won't pull it until I get at least 1000 miles on the truck.
