What type of TV for travel trailer?

Our “new to us” camper trailer didn’t come with a TV. I think something around 20”-24” would be plenty big enough to put up in the corner on the little TV shelf.



As far as TV’s go….are there certain brands, models, or types that hold up better to the heat, cold, vibration, humidity that the travel trailers experience? Would I be better off getting a little mini projector and buying a small while movie screen to hang on the wall and just project stuff on that?

Any info would be great!

Tv's now days are so solid, it's hard to get a bad one...
but depending on the viewing distance and area you put it in, get the best resolution you can...

just like tow vehicles though, there's no such thing as too big... you can always get a lokcing wall mount to move it around if needed ...

don't worry about a smart tv, no campgrounds have enough wifi bandwidth to really allow it unless you bring your own

might see if you can find one with a built in blu ray player for the rainy times you want to watch a Red Box dvd ...

We use Best Buys Insigna TV hold up really well. Only have had to replace one, and that was not ht TVs fauly (Did find Out that the Flat screens fold very well)

Many TT antenna jacks have a cigarette lighter outlet. If yours does, get a TV that runs on 12vdc. The one we bought does have a 120vac adapter, but we don't use it. We can get news and weather at the rest stops.

You can get a lot of TV for little $ on that brand. And as little as you will use it, doesnt need to be a 4K curved screen.

I recently bought a 32" Vizio from WalMart.com for $159. It was refurbished and is a smart LED TV. Also, it was 1080p as well. We swapped out the original 32" in the entertainment system with the new Vizio smart TV. It's great a night to watch Netflix or whatever if the campground you are at has WiFi. I mount the original 32" outside when we are relaxing with the dogs.

Check out WalMarts refurbished TV's. You can get a great deal on those and still have a warranty.

Edit: Also, the 32" only weights 11 pounds too. So, it's pretty light.

Wow, you must be at a 1st class rv park that has enough band width on their Wi-Fi to stream a Netflix movie!!! Most we go to don't allow it even if you could.

The last two camping trips were at Anchor Down RV Resort in Dandridge, TN and last week at Pirateland Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. Both had free WiFi and streaming was not an issue at either location. Now, I don't expect that every time but if we can't get WiFi I'll just use my iPad as hotspot if we want to stream something.

We have wifi/mifi from Verizon, but not nearly enough data to stream a movie, it would be cheaper to buy the movie.

It depends on if you have unlimited data (which I have) or a limited plan. However, our TV watching time is not very high when camping. Kind of defeats the purpose of camping if you are watching TV huh?

Used to be a Vizio fan but now prefer the Insignia from Best Buy. Have a 29" in the Canyon Trail and a 32" in the Fox Mountain. Picture quality has been great and the sound quality of the internal speakers continues to impress me. Don't feel a need to feed the audio through the rigs overhead speakers to enjoy a good viewing experience.

We have a Toshiba in the livingroom & the internal speakers suck, a Magnavox in the bedroom & it works great.

Any TV will do. Just get a good mount for it. We bought the mounts from Amazon. Have not had any issues.
