The way that people beat GM on the overheating Duramax trucks was the "false advertising issue", meaning the trucks were not suitable (due to the issue) for the purpose that they were advertised for.
This is another angle you could talk to an attorney about. If the unit is not suitable for the purposes (RV'ing) that it was advertised for, you might be able to go after them that way and force a complete buyback.
There were a few folks in the Duramax world that got brand new, later model trucks this way.
When the unit is in your possession make videos of the major issues that especially illustrate why it is not suitable (such as the seals if it allows water in when deployed and raining.)
